ALERT!!

Today 10‑12‑07 one of our members notified us that he was selling merchandise on the internet. A buyer contacted him and arranged to purchase the merchandise from him.  Our member was selling the merchandise for $1,000 and received a check from the buyer in the amount of $3,500 with instructions to keep the $1,000 and ship the merchandise and the remit the difference of $2,500 in the form of a cashiers check to him.  Upon further investigation, we have determined that this was a scam and the check proved to be a fraudulent check.  We were able to save our member from being scammed out of more than $3,000.  Please be aware of these types of scams and be careful when making purchases or selling items over the internet or by telephone.  Contact our office immediately if you suspect that you are being scammed.
